Explore the District, Layer by Layer

The Hangar District is organized around four distinct character areas – each a short walk from the next, and each playing its own role in shaping a thriving live-work community. From the employment hub of the North Sub-District to the residential streets of Ancaster West, every part of the District is designed with people at its centre. City-Building,
Together

While we will work with many different stakeholders along our journey, as lead developer, Northcrest remains responsible for shaping YZD - redefining what it means to live in a city where wellbeing comes first.

In 2024, marking a major project milestone, Northcrest announced its first development partner, Hines. Northcrest and Hines – a global leader in real estate investment, development, and property management – will lead the development of the first phase of the Hangar District.

Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed to assess market interest in the North Hangar complex, a 40-acre employment lands opportunity within YZD. The process will help determine potential tenants, users, purchasers and operators whose employment-generating activities align with the long-term vision for YZD's first neighbourhood.
